Seiko Glass in winter
20 Dec (Sat) – 12 Jan (Sun)
The makers in attendance: 21 Dec (Sun)
This winter, we are pleased to present the work of Yoshiteru Ito of Seiko glass.
The pieces he creates from the crucible
feature gentle forms and colours. In them, one senses
an indescribable quality characteristic of northern Tōhoku.
We shall present a variety of pieces,
including new works prepared especially for this exhibition
and popular staples favoured by our regular visitors here.
For this gathering ‘Seiko glass in winter’,
we discuss pieces that highlight the inherent qualities of glass
while showcasing Mr Ito’s distinctive style,
presenting new creations with this in mind.
This time, the flat-bottomed katakuchi is one such piece. By allowing the contents to be seen,
it brings the colours, shapes, and freshness of the food
into closer, more intimate perception.
We look forward to welcoming you in a northern town, Hirosaki .
